If you registered in more than one place, how did you decide what goes where?

I'm at BRU and BBB but everything's at BBB right now. I have to move some stuff to BRU because I have a lot of family in Queens who won't shop in Nassau or Manhattan where BBB is located...

Some things only BBB carried. I really tried to put as much as I could on BRU becuase most of my family didn't have a BBB anywhere near them. I didn't want people to have to pay shipping or worse just go get me some random thing I wasn't even registered for becuase the store was too inconvenient to shop at. I'd say I had maybe 70 BRU/30 BBB. I tried to only use BBB for the items that only they carried for the most part.

We haven't done this yet, but might just register for the same stuff at both places, knowing we can always return it.

I did this for my wedding registry and will do this for my baby registry, as well. Worst case you get 2 of the same thing and can return it for store credit. There's always stuff you'll need!

And if I noticed something was bought from one registry, I'd just update the other so I didn't get too many duplicates.

BBB def has a better return policy!!!!!!

I basically only did a BRU for convenience for my guests since there is only 2 BBB on long island.

I did most of my big stuff at BBB with the exception of a pack n play and high chair.

At BRU I did the smaller/less expensive things.

This pretty much, but we did BBB and Target.

I like the Amazon registry because you can add items from other sites and people can mark the items as purchased no matter where they buy them.

Re: splitting registries

Some items only bru or only bbb had, so i started there. Then i just tried to make it close to a 50/50 split with items from each price range on each registry.

Jmo but i wouldnt register for doubles. I know its easier and of course u could return it but i had a friend that did that - i didnt know and here i am going out of my way to pick up a nice gift, wrap it etc. She got the same exact thing from someone else, not by mistake but bc she registered for doubles and figured no prob she'll return it. It just made me feel like she didnt value peoples time/thought they put behind their gift kwim?

ITA! Worse case you exchange doubles for something you didn't get.

I registered at both and have a mix of all price ranges on both......infant car seat at bru other car seat at Bibb, mix it up so people have option to spend however much they want at both places.

This is a VERY good point, I would be super annoyed if that happened to me! Also, I loathe returning things so I wouldn't want to have to make a bunch of returns after my shower.
