GD Girls - Stress tests?

I just found out that my doctor's office is going to have me come 2x a week starting at 34 weeks for baby stress tests. Just curious if this is normal operating procedure for gestational diabetes patients???

Is the baby more like to be under stress due to GD? I have been doing good on my diet and blood sugars are always in the 90-110 range...a few readings were 122, 129 but that is it.

How is everyone else doing?

Yes, I had to go for fetal monitoring every week & I had GD. I would also turn in my track sheet with my blood sugar numbers at those appts.

With my last pg I went once a week for a nonstress test and a biophysical profile (sonogram).

I'm starting at 32 weeks, I go every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then every week. I'll be having non-stress BPP, I'd look into whether a true stress BPP is necessary, in a true stress BPP they give you pitocin and see how the baby reacts to contractions

I went 1 x a week and 2 x a week at about 38 weeks. I had my baby at 40 weeks 3 days

I need to go once a week starting at 32 weeks. I think if I were on meds, it would be 2x per week.

I had non stress tests and biophysical profiles once a week starting at 30 weeks and then 2x a week starting at 34 weeks. I had GD, but I think more importantly, I had very high blood pressure, even while on the highest dose of meds.

Ok found out it is a NST - non-stress test. Anyway I am not on insulin or anythink like that but I guess the dr. are being overcautious and want to see me 2x a week.

Thanks for the heads up, my dr will probably start that soon too.He's got me going next week for a gd consult since my gd fasting numbers have been over 95
