how often do you rest?

I am 6.5 weeks pregnant and exhausted.

Usually I am on the go. I have twins so when they are up I am playing with them but when they are napping I am always cleaning or doing something productive.

All I want to do is lay on the couch!!!!!

So how often do you just relax? I feel so guilty resting!

I don't have any kids at home (yet) but for me; not that often-but last night I was cramping so I made myself get in the bed at 8pm and lay down all night.

Re: how often do you rest?

During the week I go to bed early. It seems like I just crash at the end of the night.

On the weekends- I sometimes try to take a nap in the middle of the day while DS is with DH or napping and I feel a bit more refreshed.

37.5 weeks and i haven't rested at all this pregnancy. I have twins too and work full time. So between work, the twins and trying to keep up with the house, rest is non existent for me Chat Icon

Yeah I guess no rest for me either. Sat down on the couch for a minute and they woke up from their nap

Re: how often do you rest?

I have an almost 3 year old who takes naps. I rest or nap while he is napping.

During the day? Almost never. I have a 2 year old that naps, but I usually use that time to get stuff done around the house or for work. Once DD goes to sleep I can relax a bit before I go to bed.

how often do you rest?

I wouldn't normally say, "yay, I commute 1.5 hrs to NYC each way", but honestly, having an hour long train ride in the morning and in the afternoon is sometimes a Godsend. But other than that, I rarely have time to relax. I'll take what I can get!

Re: how often do you rest?

I'm in my first pregnancy, so in the first trimester I napped almost everyday. I would say forget all the cleaning, get some sleep when your kids nap, don't overstress your body trying to do too much :)

Re: how often do you rest?

Whenever I can which isn't nearly enough when chasing after an almost 4 yr old every day. I am sooooooooo tired 24/7, it's torture. Sometimes even just getting to close my eyes for ten minutes helps. Looking forward to the second trimester and getting some energy back.

Re: how often do you rest?

in the beginning I was exhasuted all the time and laying down at every possible moment. Now at 26 weeks, I try to take little breaks every couple of hours and if they lay down so do I. Once DH comes home i'm pretty much on the couch or in bed since by then i'm exhausted and feel like crap. Usually I wouldn't be able to do this with the girls at home, but with all of the complications i've had this time around, i make it my priority to rest as much as possible.
