Update: Any recomendations on Home Owner insurance that will allow pitbulls
updated since i got my questions answered.
New question: If anyone has any recommendations on home owners insurance companies that either dont ask for breed of dog and/or allows pitbulls, can you please let me know.

Most companies will not write a policy for someone who owns a pitbull from what I hear.
I also know most of the companies do go out and inspect.
I dont know the company or your location, but my company dosent do either of the two.
we ask about dogs- but not breed.

How does Home owners Insurance and dogs work
I'm would think most policies out there would require you to report to the company if you got a dog, so saying you got the dog after the house wouldn't work. If either of your dogs bites or injures someone, your homeowners insurance will cover you and hire an attorney for you if you are sued. If you haven't reported the dog, you probably will not be covered if something happens.

How does Home owners Insurance and dogs work
Regardless of the timing of the dogs, you have to mention them to your insurance company. Some may drop you, some may simply increase your premium, and some may not care.
By omitting them, they are not included in your contract, they are not covered, so if something happens, you are opening yourself up to being sued on a personal level.

Some companies might accept that you have a pit, but they will exclude them from your policy so if anything were to ever happen related to the dog it would not be covered.

I deal with about 15 different carriers. I only have 1 that will write the house but they would exclude the dog from any claim. They are not admitted with the state either.
Pitbulls make it very hard to obtain insurance.

It's nearly impossible. That's why most bully breed owns claim they have a "mutt" I'm not saying this is the right thing I do but that's what many of my friends have done.
