For girls on lovenox
Does anyone that is or has been on lovenox wear a medical bracelet. I just started taking it and my mom is on my case about getting one. Just wondering whether anyone wears one.
TIA

Re: For girls on lovenox
I didn't think to either LOL, but my mom thinks it's important in case I'm in an accident. I think she may be overreacting so wanted to see how LIF feels.

It never occurred to me either. I assume I would have been told I had to if it was necessary. Idk I would ask your Dr and then come back here and tell us Lol

Re: For girls on lovenox
I do not wear a medical bracelet, but I am also on a low dose (30 mg).

Re: For girls on lovenox
I'm on 40 mg and I know people in more. No medical bracelet. I'm not sure how it would effect you if you were in an accident. If I get a cut I don't bleed any more than usual.

Thanks everyone. I spoke with a family friend who is a doctor. He said people hear blood thinner and freak out. He said people on coumadin should definitely wear bracelets because many drugs interact with it so it is important to know that in case of an emergency. As far as lovenox, he said bracelets are not usually recommended on doses lower than 40 mg, but isn't a bad thing to consider. If you were in an accident, it is always good for paramedics to know you are on it. The concern with an accident would be internal bleeding and being on higher doses of blood thinners. They might then counteract the blood thinner with another medication to control internal bleeding depending on the severity. Therefore if a person can't communicate the bracelet helps give the medical staff some information.
Anyway, I am only on 30 mg and will ask the RE to see his opinion. I think mom tends to get a little protective at times! Thank you for all your responses.

I'm on 80 a day and never noticed any difference in bleeding except when I had a tooth extracted and forgot to tell my dentist. I did clot but took a few days.
