Smiley face on CD 7
My cycles are relatively normal. Usually anywhere from 28-30 days. I got a smiley face today at day 7. Is that even normal?

Is this your first time using the opks? Did you test first thing in the morning?

Re: Smiley face on CD 7
No, I've used them before. I got pregnant with them in Feb and had a D&C in March. I used first morning pee then but then I read that you should test between 11-2 so I have been doing that this month and last month. Last month I got a smiley at CD 9 and then again on 11 and 12 - I just figured the smiley on day 9 was false. Maybe I should go back to the FMU. I'm just nervous something is wrong with my ovulation.

Re: Smiley face on CD 7
Taking Charge of Your Fertility says that "a woman may experience false LH surges in which she has mini-peaks of LH before the real one, causing her to potentially time intercourse too early. In addition, if a woman has PCOS her body may continually produce false LH surges, not indicative of impending ovulation."
You know you ovulated a few months ago because you got pregnant. Do you temp? That would confirm ovulation for you. The opk kits just tell you your body is getting ready for it. Maybe start temping and using the opk kits at the same time for more information.

Re: Smiley face on CD 7
Thanks! That's helpful. I've never temped so maybe I'll start that next month if I have to (hoping I don't have to though :O) . In the past I haven't had trouble getting pregnant (have had 3 losses in 1 year including 1 chemical pregnancy). If we're not successful this month, I'll try it. Do you need to use a specific thermometer?
Thanks again for your advice!!

Me too. I did call my dr who even told me that opk can be wrong and not to waste my $ on them. He said to DTD every other day starting day 10 thru day 16.
Thanks again!! Good luck to you too!!!
