What type of floor do you have in your kitchen?
Trying to get economical ideas for the floor in my kitchen. Right now it's white tile which is not working out. The combo dr/lr has wood floors. Was thinking pergo but we are doing pergo in the den and hallway so think it will be way too much wood.

We just redid our kitchen and we have wood. so far I LOVE it! So easy to clean

Wood, and at my last house we had it too. I love it, it lasts long and never gets that chipped tile or dirty grout look.
We have 4inch planks and I love the look.

Love the look of wood, but with a 100 lb. dog running out the door to the yard all the time, it just isn't practical for us.
If you are going with tile, I suggest a matte finish with dark grout.

What type of floor do you have in your kitchen?
We have pergo but have discussed that when we redo the kitchen, in about 3 yrs, we are going to add radiant heat. We love the idea of the porcelain floors that look like wood.

I love wood.. but I'm a mess in the kitchen and we have a dog. That floor would have to be refinished every 6 months!
We chose porcelain tile with a medium/dark grout. Easier for me to clean and it maintains a nice look between scrubbings.

We have wood and it's fine, even with a large dog and spills. I do have rugs by the stove and sink for extra protection in those areas. We had extra coats of poly applied when we refinished the floors because of the dog and kids.

we have laminate wood flooring bc the rest of the house is hardwood. our kitchen had red "brick" linoleum flooring when we moved in and we didn't have it in the budget to put down tile or hardwood.
i actually hate the laminate bc of the sound it makes (like a hallow sound) and because we were told that we're not supposed to let it get too wet bc mold can grow under it. well that t is pretty much impossible with the sink, and dishwasher, spills from DD, etc.
i stress out over it.
i am undecided if i want hardwood or tile when the time comes to re-do our kitchen.

Agree, between my dog and 6 boys my hardwood is shot (it was installed 8 years ago and looks ugh...50 )
If you have alot of traffic go with tile.

yup this exactly, though we had/have 5" planks in both houses.

I have wood in my kitchen and HATE it. I feel like I'm always worried about it water damage. I am considering replacing it with those tiles that look like wood.
ETA: Also if it's a high traffic area it's going to get scratched. Just from our dogs it's starting to wear in certain places... by the door and by their bowls, even with the doggie placemats.

What type of floor do you have in your kitchen?
ceramic tile - hate it - its old and chipped, always cold, if you drop a glass it shatters. If I were redoing it I would seriously consider vinyl.

We have the pergo in our kitchen. We have two huge labs and not a scratch on them. The real hardwood floors look like crap with the dogs all over them. We need to get them finished again.
