caffeine and drinking during IVF
is it ok for me to drink coffee during my cycle (before transfer)? also, how about a cocktail with dinner every now and then?

i think coffee is fine..i did not drink bc i do not drink lol but i could not with the meds
i think until the transfer all bets r off but i am no doc lol

thanks ladies  the coffee is way more important to me than the booze so that's good news! i can live without the cocktails.....the coffee is much harder!

I had coffee up until the day of ET (dr. ok'd this) and I even had a glass of wine (or 3 hehe) three days before my ER.

This. But I chose to cut them out anyway. I had read online that caffeine can negatively impact your chances. I'm not sure if it's true, but I would have hula hooped naked and upside down 3x a day if someone told me it increased my chances of a BFP!

I stopped drinking caffeine right after ER just because of what I read about caffeine affecting implantation. Again who knows I'm sure as other girls have said one cup a day won't hurt but it depends on what you're comfortable with

I am in my IVF 2ww and my RE said I could have a cup of coffee per day but I haven't. They also told me no alcohol after the transfer. I am not a big drinker anyway, so I just cut it out when I started.

My first IVF I only did coffee because I was a nervous wreck... I got a BFP...
The second IVF I had my coffee and maybe 1-2 glasses of wine the whole cycle, if that...I got a BFN
The 3rd IVF I had my regular coffee every morining and if I wanted a glass of wine I had one. I didnt get bombed every night but I certainly had a glass or two with dinner if we went out...
Once I had my ER I went to my GF house and we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine to celebrate my last bottle for a LONG time... Im glad I did that becasue I got a BFP...

i personally started treating my body as if i was already pregnant when i started stims. While on bcp i still had coffee and alcohol but as soon as i started the injections i cut it all out. No sushi either and i looooove sushi!

I gave up drinking wine when I started stimming. The RE told me 1 glass of wine was ok once in a while, but I didn't want to jeapordaize anything.
I gave up caffeine entirely during stims and through IVF since caffeine is known to increase risk of miscarriage. Again, I didn't want to risk anything.
Even now, I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I haven't had a single cup of coffee. I might be the extreme, though.

I didnt drink after stims (I think). And I kept drinking coffee until I confirmed bfp. I cut down to 1 cup a day after that and dr said it's fine. I ended up not really liking coffee after that so now I'll still drink a cup here and there or a cup of tea if I'm tired.

Mine too. I had a glass of wine the night before the ER because I was so nervous! I stopped drinking as much coffee while stimming.
Moderation is key. If you plan on cutting down your caffeine while pregnant, you might try half caf now... I couldn't imagine trying deal with caffeien withdrawal while dealing with morning sickness and that blahs of the 1st trimester.
