Talk to me about your climbing toddler
DH's nephew was here staying with us this past week and SIL lets him climb, jump, sit on the furniture (he is 7- don't even get me started )
Now DS is climbing on everything! I know he would have done it anyway but I am sure my nephew gave him the idea sooner. Now DD (i have twins) is following his lead.
So tell me if you kid liked to climb on tables/couches etc did they climb out of their crib?? and if they did how soon after they started climbing?
I need to prepare myself!!!!!

My dd is the worst climber I've ever seen! She climbs on every surface in the house! We have ever piece of furniture mounted to the wall because there isn't anything she won't climb up on. She has never climbed out of her crib and I have no idea why.

my ds is crazy!!! he has now figured out how to get up on the couch, every chair, and the tables. I have been trying to do a timeout when he goes on top of the tables but I dont think it is working much. I just keep trying to tell him to stay down. it is never ending all day. its obviously inevitable but scares the crap out of me.

DS1 ws never a climber.
DS2 has been climbing since before he could walk. He is crazy, he sees everything as a challenge to see if he CAN do it and he does! I have found him standing on kitchen chairs, on beds, standing on a rocking chair, etc.
He started climbing around 9m old and is now 14+m. He has yet (fingers and toes crossed) tried to climb out of his crib. He has fallen off pretty much everything no matter how I try to be there I just can't prevent him from falling.
He has now learned to that he can carry his brother's step stool around if he cant get up on something by himself.
I have no real advice but to say good luck!

My son started to climb as soon as he became mobile.. Couches, tables, chairs, stairs...He is now 2.5 y/o and he has never tried to climb out of his crib..(knock on wood)

Thanks for the responses! Good news about the crib all around!
Not sure what happened to my sweet timid boy...in one day he turned into a climbing, tossing, jumping boy!
Right now his anywhere chair is in time out bc he just did a front flip off of it!

DS is a climber. He climbs up on my dining room table and runs on it 
Chairs, tables, toilet bowls, bookcases, etc. Knock on wood, he hasn't climbed out of his crib. He tried lifting his leg up over it twice but thankfully couldn't reach and just gave up.

Both my boys were climber and my oldest never climbed out of the crib and my youngest hasn't yet.
