i believe the medium classic flap is up to 4,800 now. i want to say two years ago, it was around 3,700. so yes, they have significant price increases every year!
so three years from now it could be 7k? that is pure insanity and I would laugh in the face of chanel execs if they straight faced gave me that price.

Yes, this true. They are increasing the prices so they are "unattainable" like Hermes Birkin.

I have a few bags including a caviar Maxi from their classic line, and I can tell you that when I got mine in November of 2010 it was $3700 and now if you wanted to buy it its $5300 and on July 15th the price is going up to $6400, so people are buying them like crazy right now before the price increase.
The great thing about Chanel is that because of the twice yearly 20% increases the bags really hold their value especially for resale.
20% twice yearly? how does the work? that is insane!
Chanel has been crazy with price increases twice a year, sometimes they average more than 20%
I did some research
in 2006 the Classic M/L flap was 1595
in 2007 it went to 1995
2012 4400
That is 180% increase

I get that marketing strategy and it makes sense if they are trying to keep their name something that doesn't become mass marketed and owned like LVs.

She told a co-worker that it costs 5300 and she was putting some of it on a credit card.
She just bought a car.
She bought a LV 4 months ago
She earns way less than I do. Her sister passed a few months ago and I think she is using the life insurance proceeds.
Not my business but the chanel bag everyone knows about. They all came over to congratulate her on the purchase and she leaves it sitting on the couch where visitors sit. I would never leave that bag there.
It's kinda hard not to notice things when you spend 10 hours a day 2 feet from someone.
Just asking about the bag. Good for her. She is one of those people that would have designer everything and go on food stamps..
People seriously have their priorities asss backwards. I don't understand this mentality

I have a vintage caviar classic flap. It was 1100 bucks which is a STEAL because it's authentic yet vintage and in excellent condition. I could sell it and get double what I paid. But I won't because it is classic.
