How to get rid of highlights?
I got highlights 2 months ago and I don't like them any, ore. I was never really sure about them to begin with. I want my natural color back! What do I do? Go back to my salon and get my whole head dyed?

Re: How to get rid of highlights?
You can go back and ask them to "fill" them. They pretty much add color to the highlighted pieces to fill it back in...

You can get them filled.
What don't you like about them?
if you feel they're too harsh, maybe you can get a darker color gloss that will kind of blend them in more, but they'll still be there to add dimension.

This is what I was going to say... Maybe she can add a toner to tone down the color a little?
I got my highlights touched up last month and asked her to do it a little lighter for a change.. Umm.. Hated it.
I went back the next day and she put a toner on it and it looks wayyyy more natural!! Maybe that's an option?

They will dye your hair back and put a leveling agent in to even out the color.

I don't like the color. It's too light for my hair. I have really dark brown hair and the highlights are blondish. My stylist did 2 toners when I got them done cause I thought it was too light at first. But now since its been awhile, they've gotten lighter. Maybe I just need a deeper color until they grow out.

Yes the toner is only semi permanent so it does wash out over time. You can go back and ask them to put more toner on or you can ask them to just fill them back to your natural color.

I have super dark brown hair and my highlights are reddish. I keep changing my color gloss. I had a VERY deep red and now I have it mught brighter, but since it's been 8 weeks + they now look blonde and I can't wait to go back for another gloss. I have to go every 2 months for a touchup since my hair is also dyed so that takes care of it.

Re: How to get rid of highlights?
COuld you do a single process darker than the highlights to darken the entire head and the highlights would remain highlights but not so harsh? I've done that when I went too blonde and wanted to go back to my natural darker blond. The previous highlights came thru the darker color, but less harsh and worked.

Re: How to get rid of highlights?
I had highlights for 2 months and hated them so I went back and had a single process done. I really appreciated my dark brown hair once it was back to its original color!
