A suggestion for baby footprints
My DH wore a white t-shirt during the delivery of our DD. When the nurse was doing the footprints she also printed them on his shirt. Now we have a t-shirt with her footprints. Its cute, but I'm not sure what we are going to do with it. I'm afraid to wash it. I also heard that if you take a "scrapbook" page the nurse will put the footprints on it too. Best wishes to all the pregnant ladies.

I have it saved in a box along with DS's first hat,onsie, blanket, etc.

I think I want to get my child's footprints on a peice of paper and then later turn it into a tattoo piece with the footprints and name

That's really cute. The hospital where I delivered did not do the footprints anymore. 
We bought a kit and did it oursleves once we got home.

This is a good idea! Even making up a nice page that can go into a picture frame and be put on the wall in the nursery.

Also, for those of you who forget, etc. I just saw on Martha Stewart today how they used model magic and had the baby stand on it (obviously being held up by mom!) and then just painted it with a light wash and put the model magic in a frame. It came out really cute. Here is a link to the directions (no pic of it on the site, sorry):
