Registering for Baby #2?

I was debating registered for baby #2. Is that a no-no? My DD is 5, so its been awhile and I definitely need to update some of my items (car seat, and some other items).

I was just wondering if it was in poor taste to do so.

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

I made a private Amazon wish list which I've shared when people have asked for ideas. It's been great but not technically "registered." I've gotten a lot of essentials from it and everyone has told me what a great idea it was. My DD is 4 and now I'm having a DS, so I needed new things and boy things.

I did even though my dd will be 2 years apart I gave a lot of things away not thinking I would be pregnant so soon and I am blessed that my family and friends are throwing me another shower and have already started buying the things I need to replace Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

Definitely not a no no. There will be lots of people who probably look for one because they want to get you gifts with or without a shower, plus it's helpful for you and you get the completion discount.

I'm going to register for the completion coupon and for a list. I'm not going to announce it, but if someone ask I think theres no harm in mentioning itChat Icon

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

I didn't and I'm having two Sprinkles. But, I only needed a handful of things that I bought for myself. I needed a new carseat and a friend gave me one. I think it's easy to keep things organized that way if you need things.

I have a friend who is selling an almost brand new infant seat with base if you want to buy used. She is meticulous. She also has a ton of other baby gear. She had twins (but they literally didn't leave the house for the first 8 months lol)

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

I made one for DD but did not share it with anyone else. I just did it to organize myself and to receive the completion coupon. I purchased everything myself. My friends threw me a sprinkle and when asked I only requested clothing because I was having a girl and my first is a boy. I really found I did not need much stuff anyway.

I did but only for the completion coupon that you get from BBB - DD1 and DC2 will only be 23 months apart, I dont need much and I am not expecting a shower or sprinkle - I just did it to keep myself organized and try and save a little bit of money.

Exactly this.

(Well, almost exactly this -- they'll be 21 months apart... and we're having a Chat Icon this time and have a Chat Icon already.)

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

I am having a sprinkle b/c #2 is a Chat Icon while last time we had Chat Icon (though for my shower we were team green)

I have no qualms about making a registry and having a sprinkle... I need new things and boy things. If someone is offended by that, I really could care less.

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

I did and didn't tell anyone besides my mom who wanted to buy some stuff. My girls are only 21 months apart so I don't need much. But for you maybe friends/family will want to throw you a shower/sprinkle because of the age gap. So yes I think you should register.

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

I registered online through BRU. I did it more for myself than for anyone else. I just wanted a list of things I needed. It would also be nice to use the completion coupon.

I don't think it's a no no, but I didn't register for #2. I made a private list on amazon to keep track of the couple of things I need.

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

A few people have asked me both with #2 and #3 if I was registering but it honestly never entered my mind to (I'm of the mind that a registry is for a shower; I'm not having a shower so i didn't see any reason to register).

I have a running list on my phone that I keep updated. Since it's on my phone, it is entirely for myself.

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

My dc will only be one year apart and I wouldn't even think of registering. I honestly don't think one person I know would buy me something from it, lol. I picked out all gender Friendly bouncers, etc so I am all set since I am team green! Since I will have a 1 year old and a newborn all of my stuff if brand new so maybe that is why I am not the norm. I am buying myself a double stroller and second video monitor.

Re: Registering for Baby #2?

i made a registry, but not for anyone else, but for me. i wanted a list of things i needed in one place. i don't need much of anything and i don't expect anyone to buy the things for me that i need this time.

with that being said, i don't creating a registry for yourself is a no-no.
