long story but the question is...

if you pay lets say 50 in salon for cut and blow....

what would you pay for a person to come to your house to cut and blow your hair?


would you expect to pay less or more?

and would you not want someone to come to you or not bc part of everything is the salon experience???

When the girl that cuts my hair comes to me she charges the % she gets from the total bill at the salon and I tip her. Sometimes I do not have her blow my hair out because I am in a hurry but she charges the same either way. I love that she can come to me. I do not miss the salon experience and was never a fan of the smells from all of the other processes going on in the salon.

I think you could maybe you could charge a touch more bc you are doing the traveling .
I think some people would forgo the salon experience for the convience, no waiting, no parking/driving. Maybe older people who have a harder time getting out of the house.

I would expect to pay more because I would not have to travel, so I'd be paying her travel expenses on top of the cut and blow.

I don't think I would pay for that because I would much rather get out of my house for some ME time!

I would expect to pay more since the convenience is to me and not her. Plus in the salon she can have clients back to back, if she travels that cuts down the number of clients she can see.

Personally I like the salon experience, I find it relaxing. But if I were a very busy person I would opt for the at home service.

If she came to me the same or more, though if it was more I would just go to the salon...if I went to her house less (no salon overhead).

I pay MUCH less for my girl to come to me. . . .she does not have to pay to rent a chair at a salon so she brings home everything. She is very local, so pays minimal gas expenses. Also, she is washing my hair bent over my kitchen sink (or I wash it before she comes).

The only reason I really do it is to save money, so if she charged the same or more than a salon, I would just go lol

You would pay either the same or less if she came to you. All of the money you give her goes in her pocket. Usually, a big chunk of it goes to the owner of the salon.

I personally hate the salon experience so I would like someone to come to me.
Plus it's easier for me that way- being a FTWM I have so little time to make appts and go to the salon- and then the hours are limited when I am free.
It's SO hard to get a Saturday appt.
I would even go to someone's house- and I used to love doing that in the past- until the girl stopped doing it altogether.

I do understand that you would expect to pay more due to convienience and travel etc, but the girl who used to do my hair out of her house charged SO much less than the salon she used to work at charged.
Her reasoning was- if the salon charges $50 for a cut, she doesn't see that $50.
She gets a percentage of it (and in her old salon it was a very small percentage she said) and then tips of course.
She said she could charge $25 for that same cut and stiill make out better on her own.

So that's the other side to it.

I'd expect to pay more. I probably would prefer to just go to the salon though because then I'd have to clean my house.
