Low Placenta
Hey girls, so at my level 2 the other day they discovered that my placenta was low and partially covering my cervix. Dr wasn't concerned, and said in over 90% of cases it moves up. Anyone have any experience with this? Could this be why at almost 21 weeks I haven't felt ?

Re: Low Placenta
From early on I had a low lying placenta. At times it was even considered placenta previa but then would go back to low lying my next visit. I went back and forth like this for awhile. Finally at about 26 weeks it lifted completely and they said it wouldn't go back any lower from that point on. Sure enough I am almost 33 weeks now and haven't had any more issues with it since then.
Not sure how big of a part it plays in feeling the baby move.

Re: Low Placenta
I'm pretty short and with DD I had it at my 12 and 19 w appointments. It completely cleared up by 28 weeks. It's extremely common early on just because of where your uterus is. Once it moves up and expands more, the placenta usually moves away from the cervix. Try not to google or read up on it more for now -- it just freaks you out unnecessarily (I remember doing that oops). I got an extra sono out of the whole thing (usually my OB's office doesn't have any more after the 20-w sono). So I was happy about that.

Re: Low Placenta
no placenta previa has nothing to do with feeling. if you have an anterior placenta is when you might not be able to feel the baby much. placenta previa is when its low lying.
i had both! lol my previa went away but my anterior placenta is always there and its still hard sometimes to feel him
gl!
