I keep reading threads on how much everyone has gotten done...nursery, washing clothes...
I havent really done anything yet! I dont want to start washing clothes cause I have no place to put them yet...praying the furniture gets here in the next week or two...it was ordered about a month ago but says can take 6-8 weeks...praying its closer to 6
I have dd car sear, swing and stuff that I'm using for #2 but all that still has to be cleaned
DH works 6 days a week 10-12 hour days and its just me and dd all day long...Im to the point where I just cant seem to get the everyday stuff done let alone projects for #2
Im just starting to panic...is anyone else with me here or am I up shiitzcreek without a paddle byself

Are you due the beginning or end of April?
I guess at this point, just try to do what you can. At least if you start to wash the clothes and such, you can just store them in a plastic bin and such and as soon as the furniture arrives, just plop them right in. Can any of your family or friends help you out a bit so you don't feel overwhelmed? It's a scary feeling, but I'm sure it will all come together in the end! Besides, if the baby is going to sleep in your room for the first few weeks, the nursery doesn't have to be done right away anyway.

Re: April Mommies...please tell me Im not the only one
Im due at the end of April but I have a feeling I may go a little early (was a week early with dd)
No one here we moved OOS and really have no one around
I have a possible cleaning lady coming by today to give me a price to clean the house on a bi-weekly basis and my dd goes back to preschool tomorrow so I'll have a few hours a week to myself to try and get some stuff done.
We only moved about 2 1/2 months ago so the babies room is basicly empty...just waiting to fill it.
Im starting to sort clothes to wash now...at least have them sorted and get rid of what ever moving boxes are still left in the room
....I really wish I had some family/friends around to help I did manage to make a friend here so far who does help me but if she comes over now its with her dd (3yr) so 2 toddlers = more mess then its worth
idk...one project, one day at a time...

Re: April Mommies...please tell me Im not the only one
You're not alone I'm due April 2 and since I've fallen and had a concussion, so I can't do much, the baby's room isn't quite done at all. I have all the furniture, and Will be in a bassinet in our bedroom at first. I just washed 0-3 mos clothes, and put them away. I figure the baby won't notice if his bedroom walls are bare ...
As long as you have essentials for the beginning, you will be fine. I understand how you feel about being alone. I'm an only child, my mom passed away, and the few friends I have are at other stages of their lives where the last thing they want to do is help me set up a nursery. Like you said, just take it one day at a time and don't stress about getting it all done!

Re: April Mommies...please tell me Im not the only one
No worries Mama, I'm right there with you! We may be buying our first home this spring/summer but details are still unknown so there's no reason to set up a baby room if we aren't staying in our apartment. I have no laundry done, no furniture together, all baby gear is still in boxes, and the apartment could really use a good thorough cleaning but I don't have the time or energy. I'm working over 50 hours a week and going to school. I'm so worried this little one is going to show up and be like "wtf mom, get it together".

You're not alone. I am soooo overwhelmed and feeling unprepared. Our nursery is not complete but aside from that we need to
-get car detailed before car seat goes in -get both dogs groomed before car can get detailed -deep clean the house -wash all baby clothes -pack hospital bag -put together stuff we got at the shower like rock & play, pack & play etc -finalize maternity leave stuff -buy baby essentials not recieved from sahower
and I'm sure a million other things

You're so not alone! I just started slowly doing things the past 2 weekends, but I still have a TON of stuff to do. I went 15 days early with my first, so I really want to have everything done at least 15 days before my edd this time, but at this point I'm not so sure it's going to happen!

Re: April Mommies...please tell me Im not the only one
I'm in the same boat as you and frankly I'm not very motivated to get the things done.
Like you this is not my first baby and it's funny how different things are... As you know, the baby doesn't "need" much. As long as you have the car seat, a basinet or something for the baby to sleep in, daipers and whatever you plan on feeding (bottles, breast ). The baby will be okay.
Btw I'm having a cs byApril 7th and still haven't cleaned the car seat, or packed for the hospital... Still waiting for a new bassinet mattress (old one had to be thrown away), oh and I haven't purchased new bottles.

Re: April Mommies...please tell me Im not the only one
Don't worry. I was 3 weeks early so I thought I had plenty of time and them bam baby is here an nothing is done. I would wash a few things. Other than that they don't need much in the beginning. My mom helped get thing together when I was still in the hospital and when I first got home

Re: April Mommies...please tell me Im not the only one
I'm due the end of April but haven't done much at all. I'm not sure if it's because its the 2nd time around or what but either way...
The only thing I did do was pack my hospital bag early. My DD came almost 2 months early and I had nothing with me. Didn't want to do that again. We're also Team this time so I only washed a handful of gender neutral onesies. If this ends up being a boy, we'll have to redecorate the nursery and buy some clothes. The only thing I told DH we have to do soon is put the bassinet together. But I"m not really stressed at all about it. I guess because last time around I had nothing ready either I know it's really not that serious. So long as the baby has some food, diapers and pjs, we should be fine those first few weeks

You are NOT the only one! It will all get done, don't worry! I am due in less than 4 weeks now with our first and I am no where near close to ready but I know it will all get done.
Can you call the place you ordered the furniture and ask if they can give you a loaner if it doesn't come in time?

Re: April Mommies...please tell me Im not the only one
Not an April mommy, but due in the beginning of May. I literally just started doing these things today. We have a lot in common! We moved 2 months ago and have been so preoccupied I have had no time/energy/motivation to prep for baby.
We are waiting on furniture too, but I finally decided to just wash things and put them in an unused armoire. It is a lot of wash between the sheets, burp clothes, bibs, clothes and covers for the swing, bouncer etc. Once you get started you will feel much better. I have already done so much in very little time.
Once DD goes to sleep just try doing a little bit. Once you get started, you may be motivated to keep going!

You are not alone!
I am due at the end of April and just starting to get in gear. The nursery hasn't been started and because there is no where to put the clothes, I haven't washed them...
Our goal is to get furniture in the room this week and clothes starting to be washed this weekend.
