How much savings every month?
After mortgage, taxes, bills, etc. are all paid every month, how much are you able to put into savings?

Right now we are not really saving as I'm in school full time & hubby is making a lot less than he was 2 years ago. I am hoping that once I get a job (or 2) that we will be able to save.

It should be more but I am really happy that we are able to own a home, pay our bills and have some spending money left over and at least be able to save something, even if its not a lot..some are not in the position to save at all.
Right now its about 300 a month that we save.
When I figure that out by year though and it comes to $3,600, its not a whole lot but its definately something and hopefully if we keeping doing that each year, we will have a nice little savings after time goes by.

we try to put in a few hundred a month into savings but some months were money is tight, we're not able to.. for instance, during christmas time where we are spending money on gifts, when we are hit with our car insurance bill (which comes every 6 months) or most recently where DH got his car fixed and cost $650  , those are the times where we can't put anything in.

Our budget calls for 500 a paycheck , but of course crap comes up (car repair, new front door, vet) to wipe that out, but that is my budget. It gets put into savings not as much/frequent as I want.

We usually save my entire paycheck - maybe a little bit less if it is a hectic month.

before I was laid off I was able to save at least $600 a month. I still had extra after I paid bills.

We bought our house with just DH's salary, so mine is extra for savings, etc. I would like to buy a bigger house, but it scares me to not be able to afford a house on one salary.
