Anyone add a utility sink in their basement?
If there is one thing I would like to add to my basement, it's a utility sink in the laundry room in my basement.
We have a washer and baseboard heating in the basement, so we already have some plumbing down there. I do not want to add a bathroom, but just have a utility sink for cleaning, soaking, etc.
Any idea how much this would cost for parts/installation?
We had all new sheetrock installed last year. Will installing a sink destroy my walls? (I know..hindsight is 20/20. Should have thought of this when the walls were open.)

I have a utility sink. It makes life a lot easier in the basement.
You can get a plastic utility sink for around $50 (or more, if you want) from Sears or HD. The faucet is another $20, give or take. Including pipes and hoses, you could get all your supplies for under $100 if you shop right.
As long as you can tap into a drain pipe, and get the water supply to the sink, it's a piece of cake. I have mine next to my washer/dryer, so the drain pipe is right there, as well as the water supply.
The cost is based on how convenient the plumbing is. If it's in an easy spot, it shouldn't cost very much to run two flex lines and a little PVC drain pipe.
