If your house has more than one floor...
where the heck do you keep your hampers?? I am still trying to get used to having more than a one bedroom apartment!
Right now we have one upstairs with the bedrooms, but we use washcloths and things downstairs too.
Washer/dryer is in the basement. Just curious where everyone else keeps there hampers.

Re: If your house has more than one floor...
I have a hamper in our bedroom and one in DD's bedroom. I either bring up the towels from the first floor and put them in our hamper or I'll just put them in the laundry room until I do laundry next.

Re: If your house has more than one floor...
Our hampers are in our closet. When I change the linens on the first floor, I just chuck them down the basement and move them to the laundry room next time I am down there.

We have one upstairs in our room, then there is one in DCs room and the guest room but lately I have been throwing laundry that isn't the babies' laundry right down into the basement.

Re: If your house has more than one floor...
We have a split level with washer/dryer in the basement. DD has a hamper in her room, but DH & I just bring our dirty stuff down to the basement every day and we have our own hampers down there.
DD can't walk yet so she gets special treatment lol

Re: If your house has more than one floor...
Hamper is in the corner of our master bedroom, along with the laundry baskets.
When it's time to do towels, kitchen items, etc, I just grab a laundry basket, fill it up and carry it to the basement.

Re: If your house has more than one floor...
I have hampers in our bedroom (one for whites and one for darks). When linens get dirty on the first floor I just open the basement door and throw them down there

Upstairs they are in the bedrooms.
Down stairs I have one just for DDs cloths in our computer room and anything else just gets thrown down the basement stairs.

Re: If your house has more than one floor...
One in each bedroom and a small basket under the sink (since we have such a large double sink cabinet) for towels and stuff in the bathroom. I use the ones that have the cloth liners in them and I tie them and throw them down to the main floor and kick them down to the basement and pull to the laundry room. In the second bathroom (which is mine) it's on the same floor as the Washer and I just put the clothes in the waiting basket in there. Sigh seems like so much work but I love my money pit....I mean house

Re: If your house has more than one floor...
So a lot of people seem to throw them down huh? We have cement floors down there and I would just hate them to get even dirtier before washing. I guess I'll have to suck it up and maybe put a hamper in the den closet. That's the only place we really have space for another one where it would make sense...I guess

Re: If your house has more than one floor...
My DDs rooms are upstairs and they have 1 hamper for darks & lights, with removable bags. DH & I have our own darks/lights. I just bring the bags to the LR when full.
I full bag typically = 1 load, so it's a great system. I'm sure when DDs are older it'll be 2 separate dark/lights for each...but then they can do their own
