Having a business registered to your house and taxes ?

If you have an Inc business registered at your home address does it increase your property tax?

Re: Having a business registered to your house and taxes ?

no. if anything, it HELPED me during tax time because I was able to write off alot more expenses associated to having a home office for the businesses

the only thing that would affect your house is if you were going to put up a business sign of some sort at the house and you were going to convert your house from a residential zoned property to commercial zoned property..

No, your property is in a residential area, not a business district.

It may depending on your business and/or township.

You will probably need a permit also

It depends on your Town Code. If you are running a business out of your home, you may be required to get a permit. The permit may require you to change zoning from a residential to a business class property. That would increase your taxes substantially.

If you are just using your home address for a business that takes place off-site (i.e., a waitressing service, etc.), in all likelihood you will not need a permit or a change of zoning. However, if say you were running a chiropractic office from your home, you would need to change zoning.
