woodloch pines
Have you actually been here? How are the rooms?
I've been looking for a resort type place with snow tubing, pool, and kids activities, with nice rooms. Have yet to find anything! Everyone always mentions Split Rock, which seems to offer a lot, but the rooms look We might just breakdown and do Rocking Horse Ranch because of all the amenities they offer.

Rocking Horse is about the same price I believe, but they appear to have many more things to do. We have never been, but it consistently gets good reviews on Trip Adviser. www.rockinghorseranch.com

Woodloch's rooms are gorgeous. It is way nicer than Rocking Horse. Woodloch has more to do. They have every activity you can possibly think of.

The rooms do look nicer at Woodloch, but comparing list for list, it seems like RHR has more to do for kids (waterpark, etc.). Have you been to RHR? What did you think?

Re: Poconos?
I just today exchanged my timeshare for one at Willowbrook ( Split Rock Resort) We picked it for its amenities and travel distance. We will be going Easter week- which seems to have better reviews since its popular and most activities/amenities are open on peak weeks.
Wish I could help more. I know when DH and I make decisions about going away/hotels we do look at pictures and reviews but ultimately choose based on price, distance and what's included. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it's not the Ritz, KWIM?

Dh and I just stayed at Split Rock on Sunday. We stayed in the Willow brook section, from what I gather it’s the newer part of the resort. Our room was very clean and very nice. Our room had a full kitchen, with stove, microwave, frig and dishwasher. It also had a small dining room, living room, balcony, bedroom and a nice bathroom with a huge jetted tub. The resort itself is HUGE. Willow brook isn’t attached to the main hotel. So if you wanna use the water park, indoor pool, bowling alley or movie theater you would have to drive. It is not a far drive at all. You are also right down the street from big boulder. The resort offers discounted tickets for the jackfrost/big boulder, also the street you drive on to get into the resort, is the same road you use to get to big boulder. The resort also has several restaurants in the area. We didn’t eat at them, we ate at a place down the street called “nicks”. As you drive into the resort, there is a ton of little restaurants. Also if you choose split rock, the hotel has a little toll booth you have to pay $1 to get into the resort, if you save your receipt they will give you a food voucher to use towards the restaurant in the resort. I hope that this has helped you. If you have, any other questions let me know.
