Family Weddings and TTC
I wasn't that upset about not getting a BFP for December only because we have DH's cousins wedding in September and I didn't want to be 9 months pregnant for it. But now its looking like my BIL who got engaged last week is going for late November/December... DH and I talked about skipping TTC in February and March so I'm not due around his wedding... but I don't want to.
Would you?

Re: Family Weddings and TTC
Sorry. I tried to quote another poster above... In looking back, you have to do what's right for YOU. dont let weddings be an excuse to not move forward with a family. You never know how long it will take. I put it off for YEARS! And one of the reasons was there being so many weddings- I have a big family and many of my friends got married within the same year. But after the weddings were done... 2 years of TTC and no baby do what's right for you.

I 100% agree with this. Take it from someone who is a planner and after 4 years of planning and fertility treatments never got pregnant. Don't ever put you life on hold for others Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally wouldn't do this. If I was in the bridal party, I might consider it.

Re: Family Weddings and TTC
don't put it off....you can still have fun at the wedding even if you're 8 or 9 months pregnant...and I know plenty of people who still attended weddings despite having a newborn at home. You never know how long the process is going to take, if you truly feel ready to start a family than by all means keep trying and don't skip any months. good luck!! I hope you and DH are on the same page at least b/c that will make it easier. It's funny that DH is the one thinking you guys should skip 2 months, tell him he'll be happy when you're the designated driver at the wedding!! good luck!!

Re: Family Weddings and TTC
Thanks girls! I really feel this way too. Only because DH will probably be best man we were concerned if god forbid we couldn't be at the wedding, especially since I am told I am likely to be on bed rest for the last two months. But it is what it is. I think we should keep trying.

1000%... i put it off for years as well, for different reasons - and now a year of TTC and a miscarriage later, i have so many regrets. if you are ready to be a mom and fully into the TTC then i'd say to continue... it will happen when it's meant to be and everything else, weddings etc, will fall into place.

Re: Family Weddings and TTC
I've learned to never but TTC on hold, no matter whether it's a best friend's wedding or you're going on a european vacation. You just don't know what's going to happen and what the future holds. But at the same time, I've done this for way too long!

Re: Family Weddings and TTC
dont put ttc on hold for anyone but yourself! if you wait, you never know when youll be able to start!!! something always comes up, there will never be a perfect time to plan it. when you and dh are ready...then try. if you have weddings, vacations, etc youll figure it out when the time comes

Re: Family Weddings and TTC
At this point, I would not wait, but we are now 16 months into our TTC journey. In the beginning, I probably would have tried to skip a month so I was not 9 months pregnant for the wedding. This upcoming summer, we have 2, maybe 3 weddings and we are doing IVF in February. I am not getting any younger and we can not keep putting our lives on hold for other people.
