Scared of having a second child

So, my DH has decided he's ready to stop preventing for #2. (I've been waiting for him) We waited a couple of years and I have always wanted 2 kids but for some reason when he told me this I was flooded with...FEAR! Don't get me wrong I am excited also but someone please tell me this is normal! I am scared of having a second. We are in such an easy routine now with one and it's been a while since we had a newborn and I'm just afraid of how I will be able to handle it. I know it's what I want but I am afraid of how it's going to change things.

We waited a while too for various reasons. When we started TTC, I was excited because I had wanted this for a while. Now, I'm 6.5 weeks pregnant and I'm definitely scared. Life is very easy with 1 DC. We have a routine down. DS is pretty independent. I know our world will be turned upside down again. At the same time, I'm looking forward to giving DS a sibling and seeing how he interacts with a baby. I think he will be a great big brother. It will be a tough adjustment, but at some point, that will become our new normal. I know I won't ever regret adding to our family. Good luck! Chat Icon

This is exactly how I feel. I know if and when I get that BFP I am going to be scared but I am excited to watch our family grow and see two children interact. I was scared the first time too. I guess it's all about adjusting and we all adjust. I'm glad to know I am not alone in how I feel though! Chat Icon
