any way to tell the difference between anovulatory bleeding and AF?

I can't tell the difference. It was just as heavy and I had cramps. Maybe the only difference for me is I don't really have any clots when I have an anovulatory cycle but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference for sure.

I can tell mine by length. When I get AF I get it for 3-5 days. For the anovulatory cycles I only get it for 2 hours to 2 days but heavy throughout and then just gone.

Do you get it at a certain day in your cycle? There's no rhyme or reason to my cycles and now I'm thinking it's anovulatory because it's definitely NOT AF-like.
