We are going back on a cruise to Bermuda. We went once before and definitely felt like we missed out on something. everyone seems to love it. We were kinda bored. Not sure if it was bc we had dd with us and were limited. Now we are bringing 2dd's so again we are limited but we also want a cruise that ONLY leaves out of NY. We figured we can enjoy the cruise for the most part. SO, I began to research Bermuda. Are there any "hot spots" I should be looking for? Where is the "resort" area for Bermuda? Southhampton? We only went to Hamilton and St George. We did a tour of both areas with a cab.

Re: Bermuda

You can bring them to the aquarium and zoo. My kids loved it and they were older.
Horseshoe Bay Beach is great too. There is an area that is shallow for the kids to play.
We LOVE Bermuda and have been there twice. Once on our 1st anniversary, flew there.
Once on a cruise out of NY with both kids.

We went on the Summit back in August with our girls (2 and 4). The weather wasn't fabulous 1.5 of the 3 days there but we had a great time.

We went to the zoo aquarium one day. The girls enjoyed it - it is small but good for a rainy day.

We did horseshoe bay one day and the girls swam in the quiet cove next to the main beach. The waves were really rough that day so the cove was perfect.

We also ended up going to snorkel park. The 2nd day it was overcast in the morning and they were talking about rain but we wanted to hit one of the beaches so we went there because it was walking distance. They weren't even charging when we got there. It was just about 3 families with young children. There were no waves and the girls loved that beach. We stayed for about 3 hours and it ended up being a beautiful day. It started to get crowded around 1230 or 1 so we went back to the ship at that point.

I have heard good things about the caverns if you are looking for something different to do.

ITA. We've actually taken the NY-Bermuda cruise 3 times since it stays in port 3 days. I definitely recommend the aquarium and the zoo. I also recommend the Crystal Caves- it's pretty cool, especially for kids.

Horseshoe Bay is our favorite place to go though. It's a nice beach and they have rocks that you can climb on, but I suppose that won't be a good idea with 2 kids.

I also recommend the Snorkel Park which is very close to the dock. They usually have blow up slides and canoes to rent and rafts in the middle of the water with slides going into it. It's also right next to the Rum Cake bakery (which gives lots of free samples!) and glass blowing place which is pretty cool.

ETA: The Crystal Caves are also right across from the Swizzle Inn which is a good place to eat. They are famous for their Rum Swizzle drink and you can sign the walls in there which is fun.

I agree with all of this !! DH and I went to Bermuda in 2005 and I have wanted to go back ever since !! It was beautiful, clean and the people were so nice !!! You can walk around and not have to worry about crime or people harassing you.

Have a great time !!!
