Suggest a siding and roof color
Please help. We have a split with some red brick in front.
At fist I liked red, but didn't think it would look great with the brick. Everyone on our street has tan siding with a brown roof.
We are not afraid of color, but just can't decide. Any ideas?

You could do green or blue, but the blue would look more patriotic, whereas green COULD look xmasy. Have you driven around and see any you liked? Thats what I always did. Also what color red brick? More orangey, or more brick red, kwim?
I forget the color of the roof I like...not black, not gray, not brown...its a mixture. Not sure of the name but its the only color roof I like.

I have driven around, but I haven't seen the colors I like on a split style home with brick. A lot of the houses nearby are historical home. They range from conservative to wild. White with black trim, to pinks and purples. Since our house was built in the 60's, not sure what look to go for.

We have a red brick chimney on the front of our house and we have red brick steps. We have dark gray siding with a black roof and a red door. I love it.

I have a split and the lower half is red brick.
The siding is light gray and the shutters are black. Our front door, garage door, and lamp post in front are all white, but I am thinking of switching the front door to dark red and making the lamp post black. The roof is old (gray shingles).
We didn't choose the colors of the siding and shutters and roof -- it was all there when we bought it. But the house had nice curb appeal, so we were drawn to it!

I used this site to help with color combinations:

They don't have a house with brick on it, but if you pick the ranch, you can put siding on the lower half of the house that is brick color, so you at least get a rough idea of how the brick color, siding color, and roof color look together.

We have a split with red brick also. Our roof is brownish/gray and we re-did our siding in green. It doesn't look christmasy at all ( I was concerned initially as well about that).
edited to add: Our shudders are hunter green and so is our front door.
