We paid full asking price- $381,000. It was a very fair price.

In 2008

I offered 100k lower than asking price.
No word from them for 3 weeks - there was a lot of counter offers on her part - I would not go over what I thought the property was worth and I was ready to walk.
We ended up paying 70k less than asking!! Chat Icon

Re: ? for Homeowners- Your bid and price paid vs original asking price

We went into contract in September 2008 - but it was on a house priced to sell, with multiple offers received on the first day.

Our initial offer was $19K less than asking, and then they asked for best and final the next day. We ultimately offered $500 OVER asking and said that anything they didn't want to clean out of the house (homeowner was going into a home at the time and the family was handling) we would take care of.

We won by that $500.
