GHI and IVF girsl....
As you may know GHI now requires a rediculous 12 IUI's before you can move on to IVF. I know a lot of girls have been able to get this waived; what was the protocal that you went through? I'm assuming your Dr had to call or write a letter.
Also, I have had 5 IUI's already with unexplained infertility (what a racket that is), is that enough to get an exception?
TIA!!!!

Re: GHI and IVF girsl....
My RE wrote a letter, we were declined so she did a peer to peer phone conference, again denied. Finally she spoke to someone else with more knowledge of my case and they approved it. I also called almost everyday and spoke to the woman in I believe the case management department for IVF patients only. She started to recognize my voice (which could be a good thing I guess) I became a strong believer in the "squeeky wheel gets the oil". I also had the billing department at my RE's office call constantly for me. When I finally got approved, the woman at the insurance company cried with me. She was so happy for me. Dont hold anything back. I said everything that was on my mind each time I called. Good Luck!

This sounds like a battle that worked out for you. Can i ask how many IUI's you had done and your diagnosis? Thank you!

Re: GHI and IVF girsl....
We did 3 IUIs before my first pregnancy which we lost at 17wks. Then we did 3 more IUIs and I had a chemical on the 3rd. We had 5-6 follies for our IUIs and Dr.B felt ultimately it was a numbers game and told the GHI I was at risk for high order multiples. It was denied at first, but he did a peer to peer and they approved it. I was VERY relieved to move on when I did.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I have never had one BFP; not even a chemical. I would love to move on from here now; I feel like I'm just treading water with all theses IUI's.
