Dyeing your Hair

I have a ton of grays and really need to dye my hair.
I bought a Garnier dye from the drug store.
Its the one that has no ammonia.

Is it ok to use?

I think it really depends on your doctor... my doctor says not at all. My friends dr said it was ok after the first trimester

My doc told me to wait unitl after the first trimester. I was soo grey, it was so hard to wait but I waited till 13 weeks..

I look at it this way... Id rather look horrible then risk any harm to the baby... thats how I get through it :)

I waited thill third tri, but my ob said it was okay from the beginning.

ETA: Sorry I just realized I only asked about highlighting.

My Dr said nothing during the first trimester, and after that, highlights were better because it doesnt touch the scalp. I have completely stopped and dont plan to dye until this kid comes out

Foils are ok because the chemicals are not on the scalp. Maybe you could do that in the mean time.

My doc said ok after 1st tri. He said about 95% of his patients dye their hair. I have been dyeing it since 2nd trimester.

I colored my hair the first and then again in the 2nd trimester so far.

Dr said its fine.

I have to dye mine so bad too! I found ulta has these touch up sticks that help a bit. I use them for when I go out or have to work. It basically is a lipstick that you match to your hair. I think it was 5 bucks..hth!!

I waited til second trimester, and I went to a professional. it took longer and was more money but the chemicals are less toxic than the box dye.

I have been dyeing and highlighting my hair every 6-8wks since the very begining.

My dr said it's fine.

I colored my hair from the very beginning with all 3 of my pregnancy's! Never had a problem, theres not way i would wait till after I had the baby lol

I waited until I was 20+wks to do my hair- full dye to cover grays. My dr didn't say one way or the other. He just strongly advised not to do it in the 1st trimester.
