Finally got my internet and cable back at home! Still not power at work though

So today's question is a spin-off from yesterday's. How do you plan to tell your families when you get your BFP and will you wait to tell them?


I'd like to wait to tell them until I either get a blood test from a doctor or if I have the will power, until the first sonogram. Knowing me however, I won't be able to keep the secret and will tell my mom immediately. I'd love for it to be around Christmas time so that at Christmas dinner I can give everyone one more present and wrap up picture frames (i.e. grandma, grandpa, aunt, etc) with a pic of the sono. But again, that's assuming Christmas is close by if/when I get my BFP.

last time we were so excited my dh called his parents right away and told them, then we called mine and my mom "knew". No way i could keep it a secret.

My closest friends knew -- since a few of them happened to be over our house when we found out for sure.

After the loss I am so glad that my closest friends and parents , in-laws knew. I needed the support.

This time when we get the BFP we told each other we will each tell one friend and our parents. ..no one else till 12 weeks

I'm not sure yet, but I definitely want it to be in a big way because it is going to be a huge suprise to them. My parents are clueless to the fact that I want a baby. No one knows except DH

We will tell our parents and siblings right away. For my family I was waiting for a family gathering to tell all of them.

I would love to tell them in a special way. I was thinking of having my family over (when i get a BFP) and buying my 4 nieces I'm the big cousin shirts and giving it to them then. Although I know me and things are always written all over my face so I don't know if i'll be able to hold it in!!!

I know myself and DH....we will prob tell our family right away...and maybe a few friends. I will probably always remember getting the first call from my sister years ago saying "You are going to be an Aunt!"

But I have also seen many people in my life tell everyone right away, and then M/C....and how difficult that was to have EVERYONE know. We will see...but knowing us it won't be long until our close friends/family know!

My parents, I will probably drive there the day I find out and tell them in person. My sister and her kids the same. Same with DH's family probably... Other family will probably just start getting work after that..
Close friends I will tell as soon as i see them, if i don't see them often, then I'll have to call them.
Its too exciting for me to hold in and do something crazy... i know my friends and family can't wait for that news so no matter how they find out they will be super happy and excited!

We agreed we're going to wait until we passed the 12 week mark, and when we get a sonogram. Then at the next family gathering, I'm going to give my parents a card that'll read "I can't want to meet my grandma and poppy" and include a copy of the sonogram.

For his side of the family, we're going to wait a while to tell them- probably until right before my shower. They are crazy when it comes to babies, his aunt literally got herself into debt when her son announced their first baby. For their second, they didn't tell anyone until 2 months before their second son was born. And even then she managed to rack up a $7900 credit card bill.

i'm going to get DS a big brother shirt and put a button down over it. then when we go see them, open the button down and tell them i got him a new shirt, do they like?

i really would love to put a pic of the sono in a card saying SURPRISE YOURE GOING TO BE A XYZ

but i know thats not going to happen
