another kitchen renovation question...
did you find the best prices for all fixtures (cabinets, countertops, tile) yourself and just hire someone to do the install, or did you go with a contractor that supplies everything so its a one stop shop?
I know it will cost more to do it the second way, but a lot less headache.

I don't like cookie cutter and I love a deal, so I always go out and find my own things.. MUCH cheaper that way

We got our countertops and cabinets from the same place. Everything else was from different places. We did go to the tile place recommended by our contractor.

We shopped around and my husband is doing the install. It is way cheaper than the quotes we got but it also takes WAY LONGER since he has to do it on weekends when he isn't working and when we don't have 50 bajillion parties. Even if we hired a contractor I would STILL want to pick out and/or approve everything they do. I want it to have 'my stamp'.
