sorry bumping this again- for those on clomid what was the dosage you were told to take? They gave me a prescription for 50mg 2x a day for 5 days but this seems a little much to me.. just wanted to see other's experiences..
I dont remember what I first started at- I know I had to take 5 pills- one a day for 5 days. I responded TOO well to it and ended up with 9 huge follicles. They didn't want me to end up octomom so DH and I couldn't try that first month.
Now I take half a pill for 3 days. I had to buy a pill cutter to cut them in half.
This is what I am afraid of! I am taking 2 50mg pills for 5 days... They want me to come back in next Wed to see how everything looks (by that time I will be on CD 11) but I guess I will have to tell DH to stay away in the meantime, just in case! Thanks.

I'm sure they know what they are doing and you will be fine. I'm not sure how old you are but they told me because I am young (I'm 26) that also raises my risk for multiples.
I can completely understand why you would be worried though!  Also, I am sure they will monitor you very closely. I think after I took the pill for the first time I was going in just about every other day.
Just as a heads up, if you do have multiple follicles when you get your period (if you do-  !!) when they start to burst it will hurt like hell!! I had the 9 follicles bursting at the same time and I wanted to die...worst AF cramps of my entire life. Hopefully that will not be the case with you.

OMG that sounds painful! Well I am hoping I do not get AF this month and am successful but we'll see. I'm 27 so not sure if that makes me at risk as well. Sounds like they monitored you closely.. I was told to come back about a week later.. oh well!
