Goob, when our home was inspected the inspector checked the voltage or output or whatever you call in in EVERY outlet. he would plug this thing into it. If the outlet was dead, he would have told us the problem and written it down in his report for either us or the homeowner to fix before closing.
it should have been caught I think.
Sadly I think we are SOOL at this point.

Wow. I have never had an inspector do that.
I am going to start a post to see how many inspectors have done that. I have never heard of this. Maybe it's only homes of a certain age? Or certain locations b/c I am pretty sure they dont do this on LI. I will start a thread b/c I am very curious to find out.

They can't ALL be bad but I've heard more bad than good. Many inspectors miss a lot. Maybe the standards should be higher. I don't know.
