Are people expected to put off TTC
so as not to be pregnant if you are part of a wedding party?
A co-worker said that she was going to stop TTC for a month or two since her sister was getting married and she is in the wedding party...?
My SIL is getting married in May 2012 and I am in the wedding but this never occurred to me.
WDYT?

Re: Are people expected to put off TTC
I would never put my TTC plans on hold!!!!
Let me tell you what happened to me. While I was planning my wedding a few years ago my SIL ended up pregnant. I think she was nervous and thinking I would kick her out of my wedding! Why would I do such a thing? NEVER!! I love my SIL dearly. It's just the way of life! Sometimes you can plan not to have any kids at that given time and it just happens!!! If someone is going to kick someone out because of a pregnancy that is wrong and uncalled for!!

They have debates about this on LIW all the time.
Personally, I would never put my life on hold for someone, let alone their wedding. And as a fairly new newlywed, I'd never expect anyone to stop TTC-ing on a count of me.

Not stopping till I get my bfp but yes people do it. I may if I wasn't 32 but I'm not a spring chicken anymore. As this takes longer and longer I do keep wondering what will happen as I'm in my brother's wedding in Sept 2012. But ill figure it out or won't be in it.

Re: Are people expected to put off TTC
depends on the bride honestly... some ppl have opinions on it... imo, they can stick it I waitesd for 2 bridal parties mostly because I wanted to enjoy the wedding and festivities leading up to it.. I did discuss it with the brides to be though.

Re: Are people expected to put off TTC
i wouldn't put off TTC for someone's wedding. You never know how long it will take you or what will happen. You can't base your life around other people's.
I never understand brides that get mad about a bridesmaid getting pregnant. my cousin got pregnant and was due 6 days after my wedding. I never once got angry or upset. I was thrilled for her. I asked her bc I wanted her to be a part of it and my only concern was she wouldn't be able to be there. It ended up being fine bc she made it in all her 9 mth preggo glory!

Re: Are people expected to put off TTC
I'm in my friend's bridal party and I'm not putting off TTC. Her wedding isn't until next September but who know how long it will take me to get my BFP. She said that if anyone of us was pregnant when she got married that we can wear maternity bridesmaid dresses. She is totally cool with it.

Re: Are people expected to put off TTC
I would never out ttc on hold if I was in a bridal party and I wouldn't expect anyone to do that for me either. My sister was 7 months pregnant and my best friend was due the day of my wedding (she had the baby a week before). It all works out!

Re: Are people expected to put off TTC
I would not put off TTC. I was in a wedding last month and we have been TTC for a year.
I would probably skip a month of trying so I would not be 9 months pregnant and in the wedding party.

Re: Are people expected to put off TTC
I would never ever put TTC off for a wedding. I understand it would be "inconvenient" that you would gain and have diff dress fittings or maybe complications but anyone who's that close to you should understand and welcome your choice! My good friend got prego and was ab 8 months during her friends wedding and looked FAB!
