Do you use the swing and or bouncer right away?
I just bought the rock and play sleeper and was thinking that would be fine until we get a swing or bouncer or both. We're jewish and most people won't send gifts until after the baby is born and I didn't want to go out and buy every single thing myself. Could we wait on the swing/bouncer or will we need it right away?

You can definintely wait on the swing. DS didn't like it until he was a few weeks old.

DD liked the swing starting at around 3 weeks...it took until about 2 months for her to like the bouncer but every baby is different...

friends of our used both right away. The baby did greta if both. I guess it's a matter of what you get before or can afford to get. I dont think I will be able to fit too much in my house so I will limit what I get and when I get it.

same, but if you have the rocker, you should be fine without the bouncer for awhile

my dd hates both but when she was born we used the bouncer all the time. she hated her swing but we got her a new one but she didnt really like it until 2 months

We have both and we just set up the swing. We have the Snugabunny and that thing swings like crazy. I honestly could not believe how much it sways back and forth. If we use it in the beginning it will definitely be on the first setting. Any higher then that makes me nervous. I hope DS likes both the swing and bouncer. I'd like him to have different areas to be in during the day.

once you have the baby in it it wont be as fast. I had it on the highest setting from day one lol

DD used the rock and play sleeper immediately.
the swing she was good in from the beginning, but has been getting better. she's 5 weeks old now. the bouncer she hated in the very beginning. she's starting to tolerate it now; dare i say maybe even starting to like it??
anyway... you can most definitely hold off on them. newborns immediately home from the hospital don't need to be in a swing or a bouncer.

Me too! I don't know what I would of done without that swing.
I think it does depend on the swing though. I have a papasan swing and DS only liked to go side to side. The one I have DS laid pretty flat in it. He wasn't so upright. I think that helps when they are really small.
