****QOTD #2- "WWYD?" 7.24.11****
I know I already posted a QOTD before but a situation occurred before & I'm wondering how other people would handle it.......
say you & DH are in the car & pull into a gas station. you tell the gas attendant to "fill it up, regular"..he is rude to you, then begins to fill the car with gas. the total comes to $54...you hand him $60...he hands you back $46 change & then says, "thank you! have a nice day!" As DH pulls away from the gas pump, you show him the money & tell him we got wayyyy too much change....
What do you do? Do you drive away having only paid $6 for a full tank of gas? or do you drive back & give him the money?

I would have to correct the person and pay for the amount due. If it was a dollar or two, I would probably let it go.

I wanted to give it back..... DH didn't want to... he justified it that the guy was a jerk & that we'd be silly to return it. After back & forth I gave in and we continued driving & didn't give it back. I felt so so guilty the whole ride home 
On a side note.... my dad had given me $40 this morning to fill up our car with gas (we were leaving my parents' summer house for home & my parents had left before we woke up so my dad left "gas money" on the table for us.) I DO plan on giving the $40 back to my dad......

This is truly a difficult one for me. Part of me would say take it and run because heck, its money and plus the guy was a jerk but then the other part of me would say, "karma's a b!tch" and something is bound to happen to me for being greedy...I guess I would really have to be in the situation to decide. However, like you said, I would def. give the money back to my dad...my dad I could def. not screw over.

well maybe karma would be good to you since you didnt actually want to take it  I wouldnt stress it too much. Whats done is done just in the future you'll know not to do it again. Like I said, I may have done the exact thing you did in this situation.

If I noticed right then and there I would have given it back but if I drove away and then noticed it I wouldn't return it. JMO.
