Re: ladies near the end...
I would have installed it around 36-37 weeks if DH would have gotten to it. Now DH is telling me there is a month long wait to have car seats inspected(though i dont know if that is actually true) so we are at about 40 weeks and no car seat installation yet.
Better off putting it in earlier in case of issues or early baby for peace of mind.

Is it required to have the car seat installation inspected? Or is it optional just for added peace of mind?

It's not required but I want to do it because I heard a large percentage of car seats are not installed correctly. I am currently 34 1/2 weeks and I told DH I want it installed within the next 2 weeks. I think if you go to Hassel Auto Body in West Babylon you do not need an appointment...I am hoping this is true.

Re: ladies near the end...
this is our 3rd, so I think we will wait until the last week. If I go early, DH will do it on his own while I'm in the hospital.
We won't get it inspected since we are old pros

Re: ladies near the end...
I am 36 weeks 4 days, we plan on doing it next weekend. The town of Hempstead also does inspections which I have to call and make an appointment for. They will be in Bellmore in Aug.10th and Aug 13th. Call your town to find out if/when they do inspections. For anyone that lives in town of Hempstead, the number is 538-1900 x 217

Re: ladies near the end...
I'll probably just have DH put the base in when I'm in the hospital. Or I'll do it the day before I go in for my c/s. I do plan on getting it out of the basement soon to make sure it still looks ok!!

Re: ladies near the end...
I'm 35 weeks. I'm waiting until the last minute because it freaks me out. I have PTSD from the crib delivery last week. LOL

Re: ladies near the end...
i am having dh put them in when i am in the hospital
he did it fine with the first and once we put them in we need to flip my son's direction - so i am waiting till the last possible time - i don't want to flip my son but can't figure out another way to keep him rear facing
