Living Room Color
I need some help! Usually I never have an issue with picking out colors for a room, but I am super stumped on this. I'll do the best I can to describe it, and if I lose anyone, I will try to upload pics. (I can't do it on Firefox, and internet keeps freezing up on my laptop LOL)
We rent a small ranch...so small there's no dining room. It's just two bedrooms, in which the doors face each other... then to the left of them is a super small hallway to the bathroom, with the laundry room / closet on the left. You walk right into our living room when you enter the house. The front door is flush against the front bedroom wall. There is a doorway and a window type thing to see into the kitchen. Our kitchen is a dark red (DH wanted this... I'm thinking of re-painting it b/c it's just too dark LOL)
now, against the wall where you just walk in, that's where the front bedroom is, there is wood paneling, that was painted white. (Everything is white ... feels not like home KWIM?)
so for that small wall with the paneling, I was thinking that would be a great way to do stripes... since the lines are already there...and that way it may not look like paneling. Also, for the 'hallway' area, I would like it to be a shade lighter then the rest of the room, just so it stands out more. But, I just can't choose what colors I want. I know if I did the 'hallway' lighter, that I would use that same color for the stripes with the slightly darker color for the rest of the room.
Anyone still with me?? LOL
Now this is where it gets harder... LOL I have beige / cream colored leather couches. Then I have curtains that are this darker color beige...but not too dark. I was thinking of painting it beige, but I feel that it will be too much beige.
Our rug is light blue, dark brown, and beige. Do you think if I did a very pale blue, and then a very pale beige for the hallway...that it would look good? And, that I can do the stripes?
DH wants me to just skip the strips...but I think it'll look better as an accent wall, and it will bring the hallway and the living room together...
Also, DS room is a baby blue color, and you can see his room when the door is open when sitting on the couch. Will the house feel too blue?
What do you think? I think I may just have to take pics... LOL
