opinions on flooring color with nursery furniture pics
So we have our nursery furiture ordered, the color of which is shown in the pics. We're putting down a laminate flooring and are totally at a loss as to what color. Should we try to match furniture? Go darker? Go lighter? Natural wood color?
Any thoughts? TIA!

I didn't know what to do either when we did our kitchen. We went lighter then the cabinets and glad we did.

looks similar to the munire essex set we have. we have natural wood floors and an area rug. looks nice to me. you'll need to add color with the walls, window treatment (in addition to the necessary black out shades) and bedding then.

You do not have to match the color of wood to your furniture..
once you incorporate an area rug, it'll break up the wood

Re: opinions on flooring color with nursery furniture pics
I def wouldnt match it to the furniture.
I would prob go a little darker than the furniture and break it up with light colored area rug.

Re: opinions on flooring color with nursery furniture pics
it's actually from Munire's new Echelon line my concern with going darker is there is not too much light in the room and I don't want it to be dark. this is upstairs in our un-dormered cape so we are dealing with slanted ceilings as well. i worry that a darker floor would close in the room too much - make it smaller... idk. i am SO BAD at making decisions lately. my dh likes a golden oak, but i think that would actually clash with the furniture because of the yellowish tone.
sorry i'm completely rambling... i just really need to talk this through with other ppl. thanks for your responses so far!

I'd do natural... Like others said, an area rug would break it up.

Re: opinions on flooring color with nursery furniture pics
IMO golden oak will clash. I think a dark floor warms the space up and would accent the wash on the furniture. I would go warm on the wall but not too dark if you are concerned about light and definitely sheers or something light on the window to allow light to come in. I think slanted ceilings can really look charming in a nursery

I would go natural, or darker. Not close to the furniture. I think I would prefer natural with a nice area rug.

I would go lighter. You don't want the room to appear too dark. JMO
