Would you go to this baby shower?
My mom wants me to drive 6 hours for my cousins baby shower. She wanted to make a family trip of it but I'm really not feeling it. I just had a possible chemical and not in the mood to crow over little baby booties. I know life goes on during this process for us but I'm not sure if I have the strength. Plus I won't know where I'm at in my cycle until a few days before and I may need to do an iui around that time.
Would you go?
And I might need to ask the same question in another month for my other cousin-let's hope I'm prego by than and am able to resume my ability to be happy for others. Tia!

I probably wouldn't go. 6 hours is a loooong trip and I think it would be really hard on you, esp. if you just had a chemical- which I'm sooooo sorry if you did

I'd go too. I haven't gone thru a loss or anything but I think you should be happy for her even if its difficult for you.

Re: Would you go to this baby shower?
I wouldn't go..but mostly because of the ride..IMO that is too long of a car ride for a baby shower..unless of course you are super close with your cousin. If it was close to your house i would probably just go.
My BEST FRIEND didn't go to my baby shower because at the time she was trying to have baby no. 1 and she said it would be too difficult for her. The funny thing is now she has her two kids and i am having issues with getting pregnant with no. 2. I'm a little bitter, but for the most part i'm over it.

If it was me I probably wouldn't go! One of the factors would be the Chemical Pregnancy and you might not be up to it. 6 hours is a long drive too! I would send a gift and a card and have your family send your condolences.

I love this positive attitude. After reading this I would change my mind The only thing that would make me not go at this point would be the 6hr car trip. But is true what the PP said, one day it WILL be you and you'll want everyone there

I appreciate everyone's opinions. I feel like such a witch.
Its not just TTC issues, I have other medical issues as well so it would take a lot of energy to be there on top of driving the 6 hours, spending money on hotel and worrying about who to leave my dog with since everyone who usually watches him is going up there too. (I wont board him).
She didnt come to my bridal shower, if it makes any difference (although it really doesnt to me). If it was in town, I wouldnt even think about it- I'd go. But its the amount of energy it takes to go the distance that is really killing me for all the above reasons.
I dont think I'll go. Thanks for your advice.

Yea, I think its the 6hr trip that would make me say no. Thats just way to far and if you have to worry about where to leave your dog and hotel fees then I wouldnt bother. Just send a gift and stay home.

I agree 100% wth ShhItsASecret. But based on all of the things you just listed, I probably wouldn't go to this particular shower.

I would too. THe length of car ride isnt an issue for me and I had to sit through plenty of difficult situations during my 2 years of TTC.

I wouldn't go. The six hour ride is the deal breaker for me. And since there are so many other fcators playing in, I would send a gift and sray home.

Re: Would you go to this baby shower?
In the time we started trying, I missed 2 cousin's baby showers because I didn't think I'd be able to handle it. I gave them a gift and that was it... I'm not sure if they really understood, but who cares.. I did what I had to do. I wish I was a stronger person who could have gone and been happy for them but that just wasn't in the cards, especially two weeks after losing my triplets.
I would do whatever you feel comfortable with!!
ETA: .. wanted to clarify, I'm not close with either of them.
