Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
I will only do organic jarred meat which is always mixed with some kind of vegetable. We don't do anything else, especially not those meat stick things. Those are just gross to me. Any other meat she gets I cook myself.

Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
I do give Noah Spaghetti Bolognase and Cottage Pie (which is a potato, beef, veggie combo...like Shepherds Pie) and he loves them. He also loves Pasta with Courgettes (thats Zucchini for you american types out there)
Those meat sticks shall haunt my dreams tonight.
eta the food that I feed him is called Hipp Organic, and (like the tin says...) its Organic

Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
I try not to give him the meat in the jar. I try to give him what ever we eat for dinner...blended and mixed with some formula. He loves barbecued steak and loves meat balls. Yes my son will eat anything!

Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
I don't give my son jarred meats. Either me or my MIL (she loves to cook) make everything for him on the weekends and freeze it.

Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
My boys have not eaten meat yet, but when they do it will not be from a jar. When they eat me is up to my husband since I am vegetarian and if he wants them to eat meat he can decide when.

Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
for those of you making your own meat? How do you prepare it--do you just blend up what you make for yourselves even with sauces or spices?
I am debating giving her some broken up meatloaf

My 2 haven't had any meat at all yet, and when they do I don't think I can do the jarred meats. They just look like ewww.

Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
the single meats are flipping nasty and I REFUSE to gvie it to Bella and it is not recommended by my ped, but they have the mixed stuff in the jar from Beech-Nut and Earth's Best and I think it's OK....
There's Chicken and Stars Stage 3 that has actual peas in it, they have the lasagna that looks like my mashed up pasta...this is all Stage 3...

Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
I never gave meat from a jar - I would just cut up whatever meat we had. My ped said nothing bigger than the width of their pinky and I would do much smaller

Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
We debated about this and then found organic chicken and pears so we decided to try it. DH fed it to her and he thought that it smelled just like the pears do so it didnt gross him out. Sydney loved it and of course I only bought one jar so now I have to go back to Target and see if they have more.

That's what I do, only the mixed stuff. Also only chicken and turkey. She won't eat anything else.

Re: Anyone not doing jarred meat??
What I like to do with things like Spag Bol and Cottage pie is mix in my own cubes of puree, so I usually mix in cubes that have potato, pea, leek, and carrot. That way the food has some texture.
