stainless steel appliances
I'm thinking of getting new appliances for my kitchen. DH is set on getting SS appliances. After talking to friends and reading comments on here I learned that a lot of people really hate their SS appliances, mainly bc they are so hard to keep clean. I briefly remember hearing that there is something that looks like SS but isn't SS and is much easier to keep clean. My question is two fold, does anyone know what I'm talking about?; and can you please give me the good, the bad, and the ugly of SS appliances?
TIA!

Re: stainless steel appliances
I love my SS appliances. BBB sells a cleaner made just for SS so it really keeps it clean.

Re: stainless steel appliances
You can buy the cleaner it's not bad at all. My fridge is titanium so it doesn't get as dirty and I can use magnets

I don't know why people say that, I have stainless steel stove and fridge and they never get dirty. I bought these great stainless steel wipes (weseman I think is the brand) and have had to use them maybe 3 times in the past year.

My parents wipes theirs down once a week and its just them but my mom cooks in her kitchen all day long . It depends on how much it's used and how much the SS shows(different companies). I love the look but HATE the upkeep. I wish I had the extra money to panel my fridge to match my cabinets...

Re: stainless steel appliances
We just put in all stainless appliances in the last month. They definitely do show fingerprints but its not too bad. You just have to make sure to open things with the handles and not touch the appliance itself too much. I was not really sure I wanted the stainless, but I really like the way they look.

Re: stainless steel appliances
it's called clean steel. it looks just like stainless, but it does not leave finger prints. i have had to wipe down my appliances maybe 5 times since we had everything installed in january!!! its a little bit more, but worth every penny! i had the same predicament- loved the look, but everyone said they were a pia to clean. clean steel is awesome! it looks gorgeous like ss and is very very low maintenance. good luck!!
