HELP! I think I permanently damaged our stainless steel fridge....
UGH!!!!!!!!!! I am so dumb. Last night (in our new home), I cleaned the outside of our sub-zero fridge b/c it was dirty. The grime wasn't coming off so I used the abrasive side of a sponge.
Now it looks AWFUL - really weird looking. How do I clean it??? Water isn't doing the trick.
HELP!!! DH is FREAKING out!!!!

try soft scrub and go over it gently with a soft cloth.they have special cleaner for ss so you might but that and try it too.

I know they sell stainless steel cleaner in the stores. I used to use a foam type stainless steel cleanser and it worked well. Maybe magic eraser??? It seems to work for everything else.

Get a micro fiber towel and some mineral oil. I used to work in the food industry and we always wiped down our stainless with mineral oil the theory was that if the oil was on there the grime dosnt stick, therefore making cleanup very very easy. You should be able to buff it with the microfiber towel and be good.

I would not use soft scrub or anything abrasive-- Bed, Bath and Beyond has a bunch of SS cleaning products-- get a liquid one, not the pre-treated wipes. Use that and a micro fiber cloth to buff it out. You need to clean the entire surface other wise marks will show. Water always leaves marks.

Can you see any scratches? The best thing to clean it is just a wet sponge.

DH started scrubbing it with just a wet paper towel....and it is slowly coming off. I am going to get some ss cleaner tomorrow. I don't know WHAT I was thinking by using the abrasive side of the sponge.
I can tell already that ss appliances are high-maintenance. sweet.

I would get a SS cleaner and try to buff it out like you would a scratch on a car. Good Luck
