CAC owners a question
Is there a room in your house that just takes a while to cool down on really hot days like today. Our bedroom takes forever to cool down so therefore our cac keeps running bc the thermostat is in there...We had two guys check out our system and they think it's just bc it's the last room to get the air and in general the hottest room in the house and the trunk to get to our room is the longest!!!! I hate it bc of course I'm now 9 mos pg and our room is not that cool yet!!!

Re: CAC owners a question
You should try to get the CAC company to run another supply to this room.

how would they do that? We have two zones and two sep units inside and out which are fairly new for the house, so would this entail getting another unit as well???

Re: CAC owners a question
yes...my room is awful...i need to close the vents in the basement but i need to get my dad or someone over to do it since they are too hard for me to do. i also need to close some of and tilt half way other vents to get more of the cold air upstairs so it can drop down

Re: CAC owners a question
We just had it installed and the front of our home works great, too cold! The back, not as cold. That is b/c of the way the vents had to run into the front and back...our bedroom, like yours, is the furthest and it takes the longest to really get the temp we like.

Re: CAC owners a question
we have two vents in our master and it was still warmer. They "rebalanced" the system and now it works great. I have no idea what they actually did, but it worked!!

That just requires adding another duct/vent to that room from one of the air handlers upstairs.
Or they could balance the system like a PP said.
If you have two zones, that should be plenty. I have a single zone 5 ton unit in my large colonial and my house stays nice and cool (all rooms).

I agree. I do have to call to see if they can balance the "dampers". I think that's what they said it's called, to get more air flow into one room vs another.

Re: CAC owners a question
thanks! I'm going to see if they can do the rebalancing and if it'll help we had someone in yesterday for another issue and he said he just doens't think the unit we have is big enough to power the amt of space we have upstairs, but I'm not prepared to go and spend way too much money right now to replace those units!!!

Re: CAC owners a question
Our bedroom is the same way.its the coldest in the winter nad the warmest in the summer. Its usually 1 or 2 degrees different from the other bedrooms. But our thermostat is in the hall so it doesnt affect how long the unit is running for.
I think thats pretty normal.
