emotionally drained
does anyone get drained from going to the doctor? granted i had a crazy busy day but the doctor is the worst part. i obsess about what's going to happen the days leading up.
and today, i got bad news about my insurance. this will be my last cycle with my doctor and then i have to move on to another one. its just another added stress. and then i always end up crying in the office for one reason or another even though its routine. by the time i got in the car i was too tired to drive home!!
i tried explaining to DH why i need him to accompany me to as many appointments as possible and he doesnt get it. then i get even more drained trying to explain it. ugh i just want to sleep through these days/months until im pregnant.

Re: emotionally drained
This is me exactly. I would cry at every appointment. Sometimes I would make it to the car and sometimes I wouldn't. It's the day at work, the waiting forever in the office, the stress, the stress, the stress, and constantly being on the verge. I asked my DH the same thing. It's so much better when he is there. We can at least laugh at our sad misfortune.

Re: emotionally drained
Yup--- each visit has always been an emotionally draining experience. When I have appts I try to bring DH, and if he can't come, I bring my mom. My dr is like an hour and 15 mins from my house w/o traffic,.... and there were times that there was no way I would've driven myself home.

Re: emotionally drained
I really really really really really hate that old routine yet I keep going back for more!!
I think what helps us get through is the idea of every cycle hopefully being the last. If you told me this time a year ago where I'd be today, I absolutely would not have the strength. It's the excitement of the unkown that keeps us going. Except ... lately my excitement of the unknown has turned to fear, paranoia, and dread.
Ok .. back to my venting hole now ..

Re: emotionally drained
I completely understand! I feel the same way almost every day. My insurance changed and we now have to pay 100% out of pocket and we're going to do IVF this cycle so it's approx $15,000! This doesn't help the stress. And, I had a death in my family two weeks ago as well. I'm so overwhelmed and exhausted. I hope we all get BFPs soon!!! Hang in there and good luck!!!!

Always seems to be something doesn't it. This entire process and all thats involved takes its toll and I find that dh just didn't completely understand the emtional part of it as much as the physical. Hang in there

Re: emotionally drained
I tried to take as much stress out of the situation as possible.
I changed those things that I had control over. I had the insurance issues so I switched to a Dr where I could be in network. I couldnt stand waiting hours in a Drs office and having to take so much time off of work because of it. The Dr I found I never waited for more than 15 mins.
The stress of the cycles will not go away so just try and take out the stress that you have more control over.

Re: emotionally drained
it is very stressfull. I dont post very often but you will go thru ups and downs. There were many times I wanted to give up and DH wasnt able to come with me for most of my appts so I had to go alone. Stay strong. Hopefull your stay is a short one and all the tears and frustration will be worth each minute of the wait.
