BFing.. how can you tell when your baby has drained one side?
Just getting into our nursing rhythm so pardon the stupid question... how can I tell when she has completely tapped out one boob? She'll suck and fuss and suck and fuss and sometimes fuss a lot and I think that's it, but I don't want to rob her of "hind milk opportunities" I can tell my breast is deflating as she eats but I can't tell if it's completely out and time to switch... is there a tell-tale sign?

I just go by how soft my breast feels and how much time has elapsed. I generally let him nurse 20 minutes on one side, unless he just refuses to take the side anymore. Then I switch to the other breast. Hope this helps!

What I always do is when he pulls off and is acting like he might be done on one side, I express just a drop of milk and look at it- if it is thick and white (hindmilk) and I have to squeeze hard for it to come out, I know he's done. If it comes out pretty easily, and it still his that thin, clearish white look to it, I know he has more work to do. HTH!
