For DH and I it was hard. We kept going back and forth with wanting and not wanting. I am 36 and have a 16, he is 32 with no kids. Yes I rocked the cradle
Well we both said my DS will be out of the house soon and we can go and do things like travel, etc... Also the big question that he asked me and made me think was "Do you want to start all over agian?" For awhile the answer to that was no.... DS was great til 12, teenage years, and I was a single mom with no child support and his "sprem donor" was a dead beat. With that it scared me with the "what if" I have to go throught this again, with my DS my mom help me alot.
Now fast foward to a few months ago and we both happened to just decide we were gonna go for it. It surprised us and alot of people. Some people had the same questions we did but, all in all we are going for it. I am still SCARED to start all over and the big what if question but in the end it'll all be worth it.
One thing someone mentioned to me, when the kids are older(which mine is) you get that itch again and where 90% of those people never have another baby, I get that oppurtunity because I am still young, so why not take it.

we have talked bout having kids since we were kids lol..i mean when we were in college lol
we both always wanted a huge family and if we only knew then what we knew now
we have come to the realization we r not going to have a big family and will just take one little healthy baby..or two or three..whatever works out

The original plan was to wait another year or two. But we both decided we want kids now and we're financially ready. In addition, I've heard as you get older its harder, so we figured we would start now.

We always knew we wanted kids "someday". Then some of our friends started having kids, so we started to get baby fever. But we were always worried about the financial burden. Then one of his very good friends had a daughter. They definitely make less money than us and have less material possessions but when we visited them we couldn't get over how HAPPY they all were. That's when we decided that we weren't going to wait any longer

We always knew we wanted to have kids. Original plan was to start trying in January but due to various reasons, we couldn't officially start until May. Of course, I now find out I am going to have a hard time getting pregnant so I wish we had started a year ago!

We always knew we wanted to have kids. We got married in July, but didn't move into our place til October so we wanted some time to adjust. We officially started trying right around Valentine's Day.

Congrats chris! How exciting for you!!
Ive had the itch for about 6 months now... We said we'd wait until early next yr to try but its honestly so damn hard to try to hold out for that... I knew I was getting ready when I became unselfish... When I could fathom dropping everything, just so we could build that family... just us... to go on trips together, to do activites together, parks, playgrounds, zoo, concerts, etc... I see friends with kids posting all over FB wishing that was me... I see families on the vacations we've taken this yr and I could see myself wanting to play in the pool/go party with the nick characters rather than go out drinking and dancing the night away.... Its pretty amazing how life comes in stages!
But like other ladies have said, I just hope I dont regret waiting all this time if we end up having trouble getting preg 
ETA: I stalk this board waiting for my chance to finally post... wonder how many girls on here are in the same boat
