Is it a bad idea to test 8dp3dt?

I'm going a little crazy over here. My 3dt was 1 week ago (Monday) and I just want to know if I'm pg or not. The unknown and anticipation of another failed cycle (though, this being my first IVF) is eating me up on the inside.

Is 8dp3dt too early? (that'd be tomorrow morning)

My beta is supposed to be Thursday.

I freakin' hate this.

P.S. I have NO symptoms at all, aside from sore boobs - but I am taking Crinone, and have had this in the past NUMEROUS times in my 2-year journey.

God, I hate infertility.

I myself have never tested before beta....

In my mind, I rationalized that beta day was made a certain # of days post transfer for a reason...Also, if it were to be negative I wouldn't want to have to hear "negative" twice (my RE still would have had me do a beta regardless of HPT) or on the flipside, lose out on potential happiness for even 2 days if I got a false negative when it was actually positive

I waited until my beta which was 14dp3dt. It was so hard! I think for a 3dt you need to wait until 10dpt. Good Luck!!!

I wanted to hold out .. but I tested at 8dp3dt ... all while repeating in my head, "don't do it!! don't do it!!"

Fortunately, it was positive.. but it was FAINT!!!!!!!!! I felt like I couldn't even feel really excited because I had a chemical in January so I was so scared since that line was even lighter than the chemical.

I'd say hold out as long as possible so when you actually DO test and hopefully there's a line, you could get really excited and head off for your beta, rather than not know what to think.



My plan last time was to wait till the day before the beta. I wasn't patient enough to hold out.. but that's my plan for next time too.

I have no restraint when it comes to testing! I hope that whenever you do decide to test that you see a nice BFP!

I am not going to test tomorrow. As of now, my plan is to wait till Thursday.

I am right there with you. My beta is Thursday also!!!! I have been debating whether or not to test, but I think I am going to wait.
I also have absolutely no symptoms and it is making me crazy. Luckily I have acupuncture today so hopefully it will help me relax a bit.

Glad you didn't test early... well.. at least not 8 days early.

Dr. B had told me that hope tests will only pick up a beta of 30 or higher. So, if you test and have a 15, you'll get a negative. Happened to me when I had a beta of 6.. I was so sad when in fact I was pg. that time.

I did however, test the morning of my beta- couldn't wait! LOL

With my 5dt I tested at 6dpt and got a faint positive. I tested every day after that until my beta and the line kept getting darker. Praying for positive!
