Preparing yourself...
Did any of you read any books before or right at the start of you TTC?
Or prepare yourself any other way - besides talking to your OBGYN.

ETA - Reading these boards for a week or so was a huge education. They gave me a TON of info.

sorry - i still have a lot to learn..
so prenatals are ok to take while ur TTC? is there any benefit to taking them a couple of months before you start TTC?

Doctors actually encourage you to start taking prenatals about 3-6 months prior to beginning to TTC. It supplies your body with all the vitamins you will need when you finally do get pregnant.
Also, research indicates that taking prenatals while TTC reduces the chances of certain fetal defects, and aids in fertility.

I had my annual gyno appointmnt the 1st month we started TTC, she gave me a prescription for Prenatels and said dont stress, your young, healthy and you will have no problem get pregnant...well 6 months later im still waiting...
Other then prenatels i didnt do much to prepare. I eat healthy for the most part. I do drink caffeine but in moderation,

Took prenatals and talked to my ob and read what to expect kind of books but I def rec taking charge of your fertility

Most drs will tell you to start 3 mos before ttc... good luck!!!!!

we still aren't even TTC yet but i've read TTOYF and What to expect and some other books about being pregnant about a year ago.
decided that i will try to NOT read what to expect when pregnant because i felt like it would freak me out when i was pregnant... not gonna lie it sort of made me paranoid even then and i was 2 years out from wanting to TTC

Take folic acid, doctors say you can start 1-2 months before ttc I started a year before I was ready to ttc -- it worked! I have heard the same from friends.
