Is it the right time?
Just curious out there....How did you know it was the "right" time to have/trying to have a baby?

Re: Is it the right time?
When we first started trying we were cautiously ready, the first time we got a BFN we knew for sure we were ready because of how disappointed we were.

Re: Is it the right time?
At first, we weren't really sure it was the "right time" either. We kept putting it off for financial reasons and the face that I personally was not 100% on the band wagon. I knew for sure when I would watch my DH with my nephews and wish that he was holding our children. I knew then that we were ready to start trying for a baby, if that makes any sense

I agree with this too, seeing DH with our niece makes me all over the thought of having a LO of our own.

I agree too...Both DH & I have such fun with our neice and DH has told me that everytime he sees me with a baby, he knows i'll I'm going to make an amazing mom... and that just melts my heart!

Re: Is it the right time?
It's never 100% the right time. There will always be little doubts and things going on in your life that you have no control over.
For us, we always wanted children but I wanted to wait until my 30s. Well now we have a house, my job is very stable, and I'll be 30 in a few days . But more than anything else we feel like whether or not it's the "right time" we just don't want to wait any longer to be parents.

Re: Is it the right time?
when we were in Florida visiting our friends and their kids, we realized and made the decision that it is our time now. With that being said, i feel that you're never going to be ready. Never going to have enough money, time, room.. etc.

Re: Is it the right time?
I wanted a house and a career before we started TTC. I have both but I'm not sure that I made the right choices and sort of wish we started TTC earlier.

Re: Is it the right time?
Baby fever hit me really hard...I didn't see it coming. I was doing my daily routine and out of nowhere I just wanted a baby. Talked to DH...I kind of freaked him out he said we should wait & he wasn't ready. A month later DH was hit with baby fever. For us knowing was wanting a baby. Before baby fever hit us we didn't want children and now its all we think/talk about.

Re: Is it the right time?
I'm still not 100% ready. Actually the first time we with the intention of making a baby we were both kind of like "Oh crap. What did we just do??". But when I saw how happy we both were to get that BFP the first month, I knew it was the right time.
Anyway, I figure I might not be 100% ready now. But even after I get a BFP for real I will still have 9 months to get there.

Re: Is it the right time?
I'm 8.5 mos pregnant and still don't know when the right time is!
Sometimes there is no "lightbulb" moment for people -- I know there wasn't one for me. We just said "ehh we don't try for it, but won't prevent it" and that was the closest I could do.
But even today, as DH is setting up the baby furniture, I STILL don't feel ready!

Re: Is it the right time?
frankly, it's my age- 31. My DH and I feel we have exausted our own youth. It's time to become grown-ups and have our own family. My mom is 60. I feel like she shouldn't be the only mommy.

Re: Is it the right time?
We had a few events in the past year that proved how short life can be. We decided that we are waiting for ___(insert many reasons here)____ and it was going to always be something. So that was what changed our mind set to: why not now? We are in love. Together almost 10 years we want to make a family.... Our Family.

I don't think there is ever a right time.
Sure we'd love to have a house and be making more money but we're not getting any younger so now is when it'll be. Besides, who knows how long this TTC thing will take.

Re: Is it the right time?
we wanted to have a baby after a couple of years of marriage.. and we postoponed it by a year, did our thing and then realized.. we could totally bring a baby into our world, be ok with it.. financially and emotionally.. so we decided to go for it.. it took us 2 months, and now I'm 12 weeks pregnant. I do have my doubts here and there about life not being the same but honestly everything in life is in transit.. nothing is ever the same.

Re: Is it the right time?
good post-i'm also at the point where we're trying to decide how soon to start trying...maybe we'll wait another year. I feel too scared to imagine myself with a baby right now.

Re: Is it the right time?
We've been together a long time but got married on the young side. We originally wanted to have after 4-5 years of marriage but ended up moving up our timeline to 3-4 years. We got pregnant right away so we are due shortly after our 3rd anniversary.
We thought about things a lot and tried to find a balance between being ready for it to happen right away or for it to take a long time. We also realized that one of the things we might have "waited" for wasn't something we wanted right now or that we were going to try to make happen any time soon, and we were OK with having a baby before that time. We also thought we would have a difficult time TTC and wanted to start the clock running so we could see a RE if necessary, and so we wouldn't have any regrets about waiting "too long"
Did not expect to get pregnant first cycle off the pill but we were lucky

Re: Is it the right time?
We talked about a few trips we wanted to take by ourselves, etc.
We were married in 2005 and had our son in 2008. We had 3 fun years by ourselves, traveling, etc.
Our last trip to Ireland was May 2004. We got pregnant in October 2004

Re: Is it the right time?
there will NEVER be a right time.... because if you worry about everything from money to how many more times you can vacation alone with DH your time could pass you by. Thats my just my thoughts on it.
